DIR-3 KYC Filing
DIR-3 KYC is an annual compliance that must be filed by every Director who holds a DIN (Director Identification Number).
It is basically a Know Your Customer (KYC) form for Directors with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA).
Purpose:
- To keep DIN details updated.
- To prevent misuse of DIN by fake/inactive directors.
- To ensure only genuine directors remain active on MCA records.
Who Needs to File DIR-3 KYC?
- Every director who has been allotted DIN (Director Identification Number).
- Even if the DIN is not used in any company, KYC is still mandatory.
Two Modes of Filing:
- DIR-3 KYC (Form Based): For those filing KYC for the first time or when there is a change in details (like mobile/email).
- DIR-3 KYC Web: For those who have filed in earlier years and just need to confirm details (no change).
Due Date of DIR-3 KYC
